Rodney Perrott
qualified as a dance teacher in 1963 with IDMA, which became IDTA in
1968, and spent the next ten years dancing competitively and winning
top international awards in Ballroom and Latin, while working as Area
Dance Manager for Courts School of Dancing. He opened Rodney's Dance
School in 1973, teaching children and adults of all abilities. In 1976,
Rodney qualified with the prestigious NATD, which conduct the school's
examinations.
The aims of Rodney's school are for people to
enjoy themselves and to appreciate the pleasure of dance as well as to
learn various dances.
The school also offers three exams a year for those who want to improve
technical skills or qualify as dance teachers.
We believe that this success comes from a mixture of Rodney's
experience as a dancer, his love of and passion for teaching, and from
constantly sharing teaching experience with other leading national
schools. |
| Hi, I am Lee Perrott.
I started dancing when I was 6 years old, and just love it!
I have taken medals in Ballroom, Latin, Freestyle Disco, Street Dancing, and
Line Dancing. I have also competed with my partner Dawn Foulger in Modern Jive,
Aerials (the big lifts and flashy moves), and Double Trouble, winning a UK Open
Aerials title at Beach Bottoms in 2009, and getting 2nd place in
Aerials at the UK BritRock 2010 competition, and 2nd
in Double
Trouble at Welsh Champs 2010. In 2011 we did even better, winning 1st
place in Beach Bottoms Aerials 2011, 1st place in both Aerials and
Double Trouble at Welsh Champs 2011, and 1st Place in both Aerials and
Double Trouble at Britroc UK Jive Championships 2011. I also qualified
as a Zumba instructor in August
2010.
I teach regular weekly classes in Ballroom & Latin,
Discreet (Disco & Street Dance Fusion), & Zumba to Children &
Adults, as well as guest teaching for top UK Independent Dance Organisations,
and Weekend Dance Holiday organisations. As well as performing cabarets and
showcases, I also choreograph couple first wedding dances.
I have a passion for dancing and for teaching, and believe the
most important thing about learning to dance is to enjoy the classes, and have fun!

Hi, I am Dawn Foulger.
I am often the first point of contact you'll have with the school as not only do I teach, but I also do the administration. So if you have any questions please feel free to email me!
I qualified with LeRoc as an associate Modern Jive teacher with the
UKA in March 2009.
I have competed in lots of national & international competitions,
and along with my partner/s Lee (and Melanie Blackham for Double
Trouble) are current UK Champions in Aerials and Double Trouble 2011.
As well as doing guest teaching spots, performances and cabarets
with
my partner Lee, I also teach Ballroom & Latin, Discreet and Zumba,
as well as choreographing and teaching couple first wedding dances. |
My name is Annette Jones
and I have been dancing for over 40 years. I originally
started dancing in 1970 with Old Time (Sequence) and then Ballroom and
Latin American, achieving 76 medals. I have been involved
with teaching in various forms since 1974. I qualified in
Freestyle/Disco with the ISTD in June 1989 and Latin American Dancing
with IDTA in March 1991. I joined Rodney’s Dance
School during the Summer of 2010 having researched a number of options
within the area and have been made very welcome by everyone here.
I am currently working towards a teaching qualification in
Ballroom. I pride myself in teaching a standard of
dance suitable to the individual and have achieved excellent results
with past medallists. I am keen to teach theoretical elements to
the dances to enable greater understanding and allow the student to
achieve their full potential.

Hi, my name's Katie Mills, and
I have been dancing for 7 years now. I have taught Ballroom, Latin and
Discreet for the past 2 years. I started dancing after the first series
of Strictly Come Dancing, and soon got addicted. |
My name is Alexandra Hadalin and I started to dance when I was 3 years old. In
the first few years I used to dance ballet, after that I danced Jazz-ballet for 5 years.
At 15 years old I went to a dance school and I immediately fell in love with
Ballroom and Latin dancing. I competed under the ISTD system for 7 years. We
won lot of competitions but the most important success was for us to be
hungarian champion in ballroom dance.
I teach people, not just
feet, or arms, or hips. I love to see my students transform, learn new things,
reach new levels, build more confidence, both in their dancing and in their
life. |

My name is Emma Nottingham
and I teach Ballroom and Latin dances as well as Disco. I have been
dancing for 15 years, because there are so many beneficial factors such
as it keeps me fit and alert as well as bringing numerous opportunities
to meet new people. I started to teach 3 years ago, because I am
passionately enthusiastic about encouraging young people to develop new
skills whilst enjoying themselves. There is always a pleasant
atmosphere, and it is most rewarding to see the students flourish as a
result of my efforts. |
